My shop is located on the Royal Mile in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town, with Edinburgh Castle at its head and the Palace of Holyroodhouse at its foot.
I named it after my granny and have been trading here for over 15 years now.
I love my country and I love meeting new people, so this gives me the perfect opportunity to do my two favourite things and sell authentic locally produced Scottish products to people who live here and to people visiting our wonderful city.
Please come and visit me – I would love to meet you and tell you the stories behind all the products I sell in my shop. If you are unable to visit, please take a look at my website and just give me a call if you have any questions.
The Outlander TV Series, based on the books by Diana Gabaldon, has swept the world. The popularity of the show is being cited as the reason for a huge surge in Scotland’s tourism industry, and it has also boosted our textiles industry which we are famous for.
I am proud to be an approved seller of the official manufacturers of the tartan used in the TV Series.
Haste ye back!
I was on holiday with my family when we across this gem, my partner has always wanted a sword and fell in love with the ones we saw in the shop. Sadly we could not buy one then and there. We took a business card and when we returned to Germany I got in contact, I could not believe that shipping to Germany was no problem at all so I was overjoyed. The lady I spoke with was so helpful and answered all of my confusing million questions and I ended up buying a sword. I was a bit worried with the post office (my end) but it was an absolute dream, it took only 3 days to arrive! The quality of the sword itself is fantastic and I had one happy husband when I gave it him for his birthday! He adores it. I would recommend Neanie Scott to anyone and advise anyone in the area to pop in!
Having lived in Edinburgh for several years, I have tried my best to shop locally for souvenirs, and avoid the tourist shops. I stumbled upon Neanie Scott and was so glad I did! The owner was so kind, and very helpful to all the customers who came in and had a look around. She genuinely cared about me as an individual, and was just an absolute joy to interact with. I got some great stuff for myself and my family. I look forward to stopping in again the near future!
Fascinated by the weaponry kept here. The shopkeeper was brilliant in her knowledge and explanations of items she had for sale and when they were used. The street is full of souvenir stops but this was my favourite
Excellent gift shop that is selling locally produced products of quality. Good range of authentic single malt whiskies here as well. Friendly owner too and service. Do visit, better than the shops up the hill in my opinion because of the service and local knowledge of the owner.
Lovely, thoughtful owner who remembered a lively conversation she had with my Dad about “Scottish souvenir red hair hats’ and she always recognized him when went to her shop during our many visits to Scotland. In fact, she sent home a care package of Scottish fudge and a scarf with me when he was not able to travel. A truly caring and kind person. A great place to find swords and other Scottish weaponry as well as souvenirs!
